Fang Thai is a Thailand-based enterprise that’s reimagining the future of paper and packaging. Rice straw are sourced from local farms around Thailand, which would otherwise be subject to agricultural burning - setting fire to cultivated fields to prepare the land for the next crop cycle. Fang Thai proudly provides a profitable alternative for these farms and in turn involves them in becoming a part of a comprehensive approach to approving Thailand’s air quality.

The founder of Fang Thai Factory, Jaruwan, has grown up in a family of farmers and has first-hand experience on the impact rice farming has on the environment. Her start-up transforms leftover rice straw into paper and paper-based products that are not only biodegradable but also water, oil and grease resistant with a non-chemical coating solution that is also made from rice! This process not only benefits the earth, but also creates a new industry and value chain of rice straw paper that boosts the local economy in Lampang.

By creating a sunburst monogram using smaller rice grain; we celebrate the origins of Fang Thai and Jaruwan's personal conection to the local rice farmers of Lampang. The radial structure alludes to the innovative and ambitious side of Fang Thai that is shaping the future of alternative pulp & paper.
