FORGET ME NOT
PUBLICATION | TYPOGRAPHY | PAPER TECHNOLOGY | UV PRINTING
My outcome has been collated to voice the struggles of living with or living with someone with dementia or memory loss. My book explores the three stages of losing to dementia; the coping, the forgetting and the losing in the form of poetry.
Memory is stored in fragments; able to be recalled and reconstructed through perceptive cues and triggers that communicate to numerous locations of the brain. The loss of memory ultimately refers to the damage of various parts of the brain therefore disrupting memory recall.

The poems lie on folded pages; fragmented and incomprehensible without the reader interacting and physically folding the pages to reveal its content. This ultimately mirrors the neurological struggle of trying to compose memories and thoughts as an individual suffering from dementia.
